HELPING A COMMUNITY HELP THEMSELVES
Thanington Resource Centre is a small, very successful registered charity. It is a unique facility funded primarily by the people who hire our rooms. We are currently grant-free, and we choose to use the business model because although our community is disadvantaged and deprived, it is also proud. Despite the history and poverty, we have had no graffiti, damage or vandalism in over 20 years, which is testament to our work and our value to the community.
By using our amazing facilities, you continue to provide extensive youth and community work, meals and food, self-improvement and daily help, support and advocacy, as well as jobs, for our residents. Thank you for choosing us.
Canterbury Meeting Room Hire
We have a wide range of rooms, layouts and settings, which can be adapted to meet the needs and requirements of your group, meetings, activity or training. It is a fully accessible, welcoming building with clean, light and airy rooms and amenities. It is always appropriately staffed and there is no need for you to be a key holder. Whether it is training, meetings, 1:1 work, interview panels, counselling or office space, it is always a safe, professional and friendly environment to work in.
Youth Zone
The Thanington Youth Club has a 246 square metre Youth Space with a Table Tennis table, Pool Tables, Games Consoles, Dart Boards, Television, and a small Tuck Shop. All staff and volunteers are DBS checked (Disclosures and Barring Service, formerly CRB). We ensure that male and female members of staff are available during all youth sessions and on all trips.
